Which areas do you cover?
Right now: Los Angeles only (including Glendale, Burbank, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica and the rest of LA Metro). Paris and Nashville are next — join the waitlist on each city page to be notified when scouts go live there.
How fast do I get the report?
Standard delivery is within 24 hours of the visit. With the Priority add-on, the visit itself can be scheduled within 24 hours of your booking.
What if the listing is rented before the visit?
You get a full refund or you can apply your credit to another property within 60 days. No fee, no fight.
Do I need to be available during the visit?
No. We handle the entire visit and send you the full report when it's done. With the Live Video add-on, we send you a link so you can watch the visit live.
Who coordinates with the real estate agent?
You schedule the visit time with the agent, then add it to our calendar at booking. Our scout takes it from there.
Can I receive my report in another language?
Yes. Reports can be delivered in English or French. With the Live Video add-on, the voice-over is also available in your language.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Free rescheduling up to 24 hours before the visit. If you cancel, your credit stays in your account for 60 days, usable on any future booking.
Is this for buyers as well as renters?
Both. Most clients are renters relocating to a new city, but buyers also use us for an unbiased second opinion before signing.
How do I contact you?
Email hello@scoutmyplace.com or use the contact form. We reply within one business day.
Do you scout in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, or Santa Monica?
Yes. Our LA Metro coverage includes Los Angeles plus 10 adjacent municipalities: West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Glendale, Burbank, Culver City, Pasadena, Inglewood, El Segundo, and Marina del Rey. We verify the exact address against our service zones before payment.
Will the scout measure noise in an LA apartment?
Yes. If a room feels noisy, we take a 30-second ambient noise reading (in decibels) on top of our written feedback. The reading is included in the report.
When will Paris open?
Soon — we're recruiting scouts in the 20 arrondissements right now. Drop your email on the Paris city page and you'll be the first to know the day we go live, with a launch discount for early waitlist members.
Will the Paris inspection cover floor, elevator and staircase?
Yes. When Paris opens, the 103-checkpoint inspection will include floor (étage), elevator presence and condition, staircase, building common areas, and overall building age — everything specific to Haussmann buildings.
Will the scout flag dampness or poor sound insulation in Paris apartments?
Yes, once Paris is live. The scout looks for visible mold, water stains, and ventilation issues. If a room sounds noisy during the visit, we also take a 30-second noise reading that gives an objective signal of sound insulation.
When will Nashville open?
Soon. The full Nashville Metro coverage map (East Nashville, 12 South, Germantown, The Gulch, Sylvan Park, Hillsboro Village, Brentwood and Franklin) is ready — we're onboarding scouts. Join the Nashville waitlist to be notified the day we launch.
Will the scout check flood risk for a Nashville apartment near a river?
Once Nashville is live, the scout will note external observations like proximity to the Cumberland River or local creeks, building elevation, and visible flood markings. We do not provide a flood-zone certification, but the scout's observations help you ask the right questions before signing.
Is my report kept private?
Yes. The report is delivered only to the client who booked the visit. We do not share it with the landlord or the listing agent.
What if I have questions after I receive the report?
Reply to the report-delivery email or contact us at hello@scoutmyplace.com. If something is unclear, we'll do our best to clarify or expand the relevant section.
